3’s Facebook phone revealed!
We’ve been staring at 3’s teaser page for weeks, but now the beans have been spilt! We know all about the network’s new Facebook phone, due to be unveiled officially next Thursday.
Three’s made no secret that its new handset will allow access to the social networking site, and its common knowledge that it has hooked up with INQ Mobile to manufacture its own-brand mobiles.

Facebook said on its blog today that it’s beefing up its mobile team and making improvements to take advantage of a growing number of people who are using the social network while on the go. Since the beginning of the year, the number of active mobile users has jumped from 5 million to 15 million. One of the most recent features added to the mobile Facebook site is the ability to comment on your friends’ status updates.

Use of Facebook mobile products has grown from 5 million active users at the beginning of the year to 15 million, Wayne Chang, an engineer on Facebook's mobile team, wrote on a Facebook blog.
What’s driving the mobile social networking bandwagon?
More crazy money talk was being bandied around in the world of social networking this week as it emerged that Web 2.0 giant Facebook has been eyeing up Twitter as a potential acquisition.
Facebook, much the darling of the mobile space at present, if recent deals are anything to go by, is believed to have considered snapping up the micro blogging tool, but walked away over a high price tag.
How high? Anything up to $500m if some reports are to be believed - which injects a certain irony into the situation as potential suitors for Facebook, like Yahoo, have in the past been driven off by a high price tag themselves.
Facebook to Offer More Services on Mobile Phones
Facebook Inc., operator of the world’s largest social-networking site, is working to offer more services on mobile phones from manufacturers such as Nokia Oyj, Apple Inc. and BlackBerry maker Research In Motion Ltd.
Facebook is seeking more partnerships with wireless-service providers and phone makers, according to a statement from the company yesterday. About 13 percent of Facebook customers access the site using their phones, the company said.
